Whose perspective have Sky News used to present the story?
 - Sky News have used the polices perspective to present the story. Out of 100%, 80% of the news story focused on how police officers were injured, or and over the shoulder shot of young teenagers attacking the police officers.
How are the police represented in this coverage?
 - Police officers are represented as vulnerable beings when the news presenter said that some officers are injured and in hospital and also how they are not in control of the situation. They also make police officers seem weak and defenseless as they do not defend themselves whilst being attacked.
 How are young people represented in this coverage?
 - Young people are being negatively represented as most citizen journalism clips being shown includes young teenagers with their hoods up, stealing clothes, electronics etc. They are also presented as uncontrollable, raging humans as clips of them burning down a bus and a building is being shown.

 - Sky News chose the videos which portray the young people negatively, for example, when the young people are throwing rocks at them and chose clips were police officers seemed to look very stable and had most of the power.  - They didn't use many sophisticated words. However, they did repeat a few words such as 'young people' which suggests that young people have a big part of this riots.

 - The most important aspect of the story is the police officers because in most sentences they are mentioned.

  - Young people star in this story therefore people the same age as the ones in this video will relate to them.

 - Personally, I think there is a disequilibrium which is the riots as this story is filled with negativity and there isn't really a positive angle to it.

 - The protagonist in this story is the young people doing damage to the town. However, they are not the hero. The hero of this story is the police officers that are injured/trying to stop the riot as they are being positively represented and the news programme shows more of an angle of the police officers.
 How might citizen journalism have been used to provide a different angle on this story?
 - To provide a different angle to this story, citizen journalism clips of police officers attacking young people could have been used to make the young people look more vulnerable. They could also use citizen journalism clips of other young people peacefully rioting and not stealing clothes and electronics.

They use the key conventions by having someone who presents the news, graphics and videos to present the news and a bar at the bottom to show news stories.The presenters are Sam Naz, Ben Mundy, ChiChi Izundu, Tina Daheley. They are younger presenters and are dressed less formal and more casual compared to other news programmes.4 reporters are used when presenting the news. The studio has a lot of graphics and shows how long the news is. The news is presented on a phone and a tablet.The opening shot is the 60 Seconds logo and this fits in with the key conventions as its showing the logo of the programme. The news is mainly presented by the use of video clips and this is shown by a graphic phone and tablet.The target audience is between the ages of 16-25 as its shown late on TV and talks about more entertaining news than serious topics that have happened. It also presents the news in a shorty space of time.
 People can get involved with the channel through social media and there are young people that have been shown on the channel. This is done through the news stories and through a young presenter.
 The stories covered were about sports, school, an actor and only 1 world wide story. The first story was the one that was worldwide then about tennis, talking about schools and then about football towards the end. The sports section was shown for the longest amount of time.

Educate Inform and entertain

The Presenters are always dressed formally, they always wear suits sometimes with and sometimes without ties. This communicates to the audience that they mean business and they are serious about their job in hands.
They use a variety of presenters to appeal to audiences as they can relate to different people. Another reason why they would use a variety of presenters is to be different to other news programmes. Some of the presenters are used as interviewers and sometimes they are abroad researching or doing a special interview. Their is a variety of males and females on the BBC also a variety of ethnic groups. The very first shot in BBC is the upcoming news then it moves on to the graphics of the introduction. The opening sequence grabs the audiences attention by using a shot of the studio so the audience knows its live and all their news is up to date. The music is in sync with the graphics to portray a more professional look to the show. In the opening two minutes the stories are shown by a little clip normally accentuated by a voice over. The studio is shown through out the introduction of the show, but then it moves to the main bit where in the cameras are shown this is because BBC want to make the show look much more modern than  others also technological. 
Usually when a show begins the presenters are standing up in front of a huge screen which shows the current news they will be broadcasting. The studio uses colour to brighten up the screen and make everything look professional. The BBC typically present a story by having a reporter live at he scene or having an interview. BBC use many different techniques to make the show look more serious and to keep the viewers interested on of these techniques is Graphics by using special graphics BBC present the show in a different way compared to other shows like channel 4 this is because the BBC have a bigger budget and they tend to take advantage of that. The TV news programme BBC usually cover many different aspects including politics,sport,weather,international news so on and so fourth. AN example of a real news story is Habbo Hotel and the coverage of Tesco's biggest loss in both of these stories the BBC used graphics and interviews to keep the audience interested this was shown in the coverage of Tesco where in BBC used graphics when they made recipients come out of a till stating all the facts about the loss.

of time as it is ranked in importance therefore the first stories presented will always be longer as they are more important.
The target audience for BBC news at 6 is the ages from 16 to 35 year olds and their viewing figures are a impressive  four million viewers on average. People might choose this over others because their is more information and they get the best insight into things like the government and poltitics.

Ofcom regulates the content of the news to make sure that the stories are not from one point of view and that there aren't any personal opinions or comments.This makes sure that TV news are not bias or give any unfair advantages to anybody. I do think that the BBC dumb things down a bit as they sometimes use unnecesary graphics and effects. The BBC do have a dedicated website where you can find weather updates sports news and anything related to news.
